I think a lot of people share your opinions, including myself. I’m extremely excited to see what the new controllers will be able to do, and I’m crossing my fingers that we won’t be disappointed! All I can say is that it sure sounds like Sony and Microsoft are putting a lot of time and effort into their development, so with any luck we’ll be seeing some really revolutionary controls!

I have heard so many fun stories about the power pad! It sounds like such a wonderful idea, especially for young kids. Looking back, it’s easy to see where the idea for the DDR pad came from!

The best video game controller ever was the Nintendo power pad. With 3-4 of us kids pounding on that thing, our combined efforts allowed us to beat “Rabbit.” How many controllers allow for that many kids to use one controller at once? …only the power pad.

I am holding my breath on motion controls. The technology seems quite capable handling basic motions. What I’m interested in is whether or not motion controls can handle the level of precision required games other than Wii Sports.
